Decide whether the relationship is worth saving. Every relationship can be saved with hard work, but both parties must decide that they want to make it work. Chances of saving a relationship will be slim if one partner has opted out and doesnt want to opt back in. There are many couples stay in a relationship for the convenience. Some remain in a marriage because of the children. However, that is not enough. Saving a relationship starts with a commitment by both parties that the relationship is worth saving.

Pinpoint the problems in a relationship. People believe that the symptoms of the problem are the problem itself, and this is one of the biggest problems in how to save a relationship. Say, many people think an affair is a problem that causes break ups. In truth, the affair is actually a symptom of a deeper problem. What do you think causes your partner to have an affair? Reason could be, lack of true intimacy that leads to a straying spouse.
